07/03/2003    RussiaTrek is now offering a limited number of free webpages to artisans, artists, and craftspersons in Mari El. The pages will be built by our webmaster, and hosted by RussiaTrek.com, with a link on our Mari El page. Each site will have it's own URL, and can be viewed independently from the RussiaTrek site. Each site will consist of a bio / info / contact page, and a clickable thumbnail gallery page with up to 12 images of the persons work. If the artist does not have email access (and we assume that most do not), we have 2 volunteers in YO who will phone them and read their messages to them. Interested individuals will be responsible for obtaining photographs of their work, and forwarding digital images, prints, negatives or slides to us, along with a short bio. Pictures will not be returned. In the future, we may have a volunteer photographer who will help.

Why are we doing this? To help cultural exchange, help keep the arts in Mari El alive, and help the income potential of the artists. If we succeed, we wil drive more traffic to out site, and have more click on our sponsored links.
Irina and I will be the sole judges of the appropriateness of each individual and their work.
